About The Department
The Department of Economics Sri Sathya Sai College for Women, Bhubaneswar was established
the year 1981. Initially the Department only offered General Course in Economics Since 2017-18 the Department started offering Honors course in Economics under the Rama Devi Women’s University. The Department has a faculty strength consisting of two sanctioned teaching posts Currently the faculty consists of two Associate Professors. All the teachers in the department are very much dedicated to imparting the best of their teaching to the students and put in their relentless effort to bring out the best in the students Towards this end, they undertake various projects and programmes besides intensive class room teaching Not only the teachers put in considerable time hours for interacting with the students on academic issues beyond class hours, but they also encourage the students to develop their research and analytical skills. For this purpose, the department organizes seminars, invited lectures from time to time The department has to its credit, organizing seminars by eminent economists on various national and global economic issues. The students of the department have a good relationship with the teachers of the same This is reflected in the good results and securing of high rank by the students in the university examinations.
