Examination

College Exmination:

1.As per the guideline of government monthly test is commenced regularly in each classes.
2.There shall two examinations namely first terminal and Annual Examination for +2 first year classes. Annual and test examinations are compulsory for all other classes. Unless a student appears the Annual or test examination she shall not be promoted to the next higher clas or sent up for the university / CHSE examination.
3.All University / Higher secondary examination (Council Examination) will be Conducted as per the programmes  communicated by them from time to time.

Note  :  Any student found adopting unfair-means during examination or shoeing indecent behavior during college examination will be punished. In cash of university / council examination she will be spot expelled and no sitting arrangement will be made further after report of mall practice.

4.The CHSE conducts annually two examination one Annual and one instant examination for the +2 Arts / Science / Commerce students.
A Student who has secured pass mark in aggregate in one compulsory or elective subject shall be allowed to appear the instant Examination in that particular failed subject provided that the result of that student has not been with held / cancelled for adopting unfair means or has not been booked under mal practice  at the Annual examination  or her paper / papers has not been cancelled by the examination committee or the council.
5.The three years degree course in Arts / Science / Commerce of Utkal University  shall be spread over a period of three (03)  academic years. A students is required to appear examination like
 
1.First University Examination (R/B)
2.Second University Examination (R/B)
3.Final University examination (R/B)
Filling of forms is  mandatory for each year students/ each examination. If a students dose not fill up the form for the relevant examination (1st & 2nd ) she shall neither be promoted to the next higher class nor shall be allowed to appear back examination. Her studentship is cancelled at the end of the academic year.

Pass Marks and Division :
i)In order to clear the degree examination in Arts / Science / Commerce, a candidate is required to secure 30% of mark in each theory paper, 36% of marks in aggregate and 40% in each practical paper.
ii)A minimus of 30% in each subject and 50% in aggregate is required to pass with distinction. Distnction is applicable to the students who have not appeared the Back Examination.
iii)Pass without Honours : The minimum of 30% in each subject and a minimum of 36% in aggregate in subject  other than Honours and less than 45% but not less than 36% in honours subject.
iv)Pass without Honours and with Distinction : A minimum of 30% in each subject and a minimum  of 50% in aggregate in the subject other than Honours.
v)Second class Honours : A minimum of 30% in each subject and a minimum of 36% in aggregate in subject other than Honours and   a minimum of 45% marks or more but less than 60% in Honours subject.
vi)Second class Honours with Distinction : In addition to second class Honours a minimum of 50% marks secured in all subject other than Honours in first appearance.
vii)First class Honours without Distinction : A minimum of 30% in each subject and a minimum of 36% in aggregate in subject other than Honours and minimum of 60% or more than in Honours.
viii)First class honours with Distiniction : Inaddition to First class Honours a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in subject other than Honours in first appearance.
ix)A candidate failing to secure a minimum of 30% in pass subject and / or a minimum of 40% in each practical paper either in the first, second or final examination of the Utkal University may be allowed to reappear in those subject.
However, if a candidate who has not cleared an examination may at his option appear in all papers of that examination under the following conditions :
1)Marks secured by the candidate in that examination earlier stand cancelled.
2)After exercising the option to appear in all papers on an examination if a candidate fails to clear that examination if a candidate fails to clear that examination, she will be required to appear in all  papers of that examination in a subsequent chance within 5 years of first registration to firsty Degree examination.
3)If  candidate has appeared in back papers in the first chance and in all the papers at that examination (in all the papers) under new course only within 5 Years of 1 st registration to first degree examination.
